Does the Hypothesists app work on my Shopify plan?
Yes. Every feature, including checkout upsells and post-purchase offers, works on Basic, Shopify, Advanced, and Plus through Shopify's modern extension surfaces. Where Shopify reserves a capability for Plus, the app detects your plan and adapts, at the same price.
Will the app slow my store down?
No. The widgets are theme app extensions rendered by Shopify itself, not script-tag injections. Analytics run through Shopify's Web Pixel sandbox. Clean install, clean uninstall, no theme-code residue.
What tools does the Hypothesists app replace?
A split-testing app, an analytics app, a shipping-bar app, a bundles app, a cart-upsell app, a checkout-upsell app, a post-purchase app, a survey app, and a promo-bar app. Most stores pay $150 to $400 a month for that stack.
How is this different from other split-testing apps?
Three ways. It measures your store whether or not a test is running (CVR, AOV, and LTV, always on). It scores experiments on the whole journey, including refunds and lifetime value, not just the click. And it enforces the discipline that makes results worth believing: a written hypothesis and a sealed, pre-registered run.
How much does the Hypothesists app cost?
The Instrument is $199 per month with a 14-day free trial, or $1,990 per year (two months free). Billing runs through Shopify, and you can cancel anytime, effective at the end of the billing period.
What is the wager?
Hypothesists' agency arrangement. In an onboarding session we agree on a target average order value in writing, then test relentlessly until we clear it; you don't pay until we hit it. Then the same terms apply to a lifetime-value benchmark. No benchmark, no fee.
What happens on the onboarding call?
A working session, not a discovery call. We build your store's testing strategy in front of you, with visuals: the hypotheses we'd run first, the sequence, and the benchmarks we'd commit to. Like it and we start immediately, often the same week.
Can I watch the work in progress?
Yes. Every client gets a live dashboard showing queue status, design percentage complete, which test is running, how much traffic it still needs to reach significance, and the estimated completion date.
What data does the app collect?
Storefront events (views, carts, checkouts) via Shopify's Web Pixel, plus order data via webhooks, used only to compute your store's metrics. Raw events are deleted after 30 days; long-term reporting uses aggregates. Data is never sold.
What do CVR, AOV, and LTV mean?
CVR is conversion rate, the share of visitors who buy. AOV is average order value, revenue per order. LTV is lifetime value, what a customer is worth over time, which the app charts as a cohort curve at Day 0, 30, 60, and 90 against your customer acquisition cost.
